The Heart Of KL City’s Food Street Culture

Jalan Alor — A Bustling Lane Filled To The Brim With Street Food

Found just a stone’s throw away from Kuala Lumpur’s busiest intersection (Bukit Bintang), you’ll find the popular street food avenue of Jalan Alor. This particular stretch of road is filled with food vendors, restaurants, and hawker stalls offering various local and international cuisine, ranging from the affordable to the decadent.

Jalan Alor is truly a not-to-be-missed experience as it’s the perfect spot to get the ball rolling on your gastronomic adventures in Malaysia. The entire road is lined with hawker stalls and seafood restaurants that are always full. Though, the prices here may be a tad more expensive as it’s considered a tourist destination by the locals.

Apart from that, Jalan Alor is a favourite after-clubbing supper spot in the Golden Triangle area. It’s definitely recommended to skip over the air-conditioned seafood restaurants and instead to mingle with the locals amongst the old-school hawker stalls here.

Must-Try: Barbeque chicken wings @ Restoran Wong Ah Wah, Satay @ Terminal Sate Zul, roasted barbecue pork @ Restoran Meng Kee Grill Fish, oyster omelette @ Restoran Meng Kee Grill Fish, coconut ice-cream @ Sangkaya.

Address: Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur
